Our story
About Bathsheba Foundation
The Bathsheba Foundation’s journey started in October 2000, when a woman of great generosity visited Africa for the first time. She went to Dakar, Senegal, and found many people suffering, with a standard of living far below what anyone should have to accept. The trip started out as a vacation, but it soon became a matter of deep concern, and she set out to do something significant for communities across Senegal.
Dakar is the capital and largest city of Senegal. It sits on the Cape Verde Peninsula on the country’s Atlantic coast, and is the westernmost city in Africa. Across the region, in Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin, Mauritania and Guinea, attention to nutrition problems and the right ways to address them remains weak.
Today the foundation collects donated items such as food, clothes, toys, books, medical and school supplies for redistribution. Monetary contributions help with the shipping and handling of donated items, and help families in need of basic care, such as school fees, school uniforms and home repairs.

We collect donated goods and money to provide food, clothing, school supplies and medical care for children and families in need. Because we are all volunteers, your gifts go to supplies and shipping.
